After years of vacancy and an incomplete loft conversion in the mid-2000s, Bedrock, Dan Gilbert’s real estate firm, acquired the building in 2013. A comprehensive renovation, led by Kraemer Design Group, began in January 2017, transforming the former office space into 21 luxury apartment units and ground-floor restaurant space. The restoration focused on preserving the building’s historical integrity, with particular attention to the facade, first-floor lobby, and residential corridors, while introducing modern amenities. HRSW contributed by installing luxurious marble kitchen countertops, islands, and full-height backsplashes in all apartments, as well as a custom lobby reception desk wrapped in marble facades.
