Situated on the site of the iconic J.L. Hudson’s flagship store in downtown Detroit, Barton Malow is overseeing the development of a transformational mixed-use space encompassing over 1.5 million square feet of office, retail, dining, hotel, residential, event, and parking areas. The Hudson’s Detroit project includes a 12-story, 650,000-square-foot Block featuring shopping, dining, an event hall, and office space. Set for completion in 2025, General Motors will anchor the Block building, relocating its global headquarters from the Detroit Riverfront. An adjacent 685-foot Tower, the first skyscraper development in downtown Detroit in decades, will offer luxury residential units and the city’s first five-star hotel. HRSW contributed by installing numerous marble and quartz countertops in restrooms and public spaces throughout the development.
